Private Gatherings are available at The Women's Self-Discovery Center.

These small women’s circles are offered as a way to celebrate life’s sacred events!

For example, a birthday circle for you or a friend is a fun and creative way to share how you feel about each other. In this circle, participants choose objects from the sandtray collection that remind them of the birthday celebrant. The birthday celebrant chooses an object that reminds her of each of the other participants. Then there is an exchange and a sharing of these “Gifts!” These circles can be very moving, as we sometimes do not know the ways in which the people closest to us actually see us! You don’t have to wait for a birthday… a Life Celebration at The Women’s Self-Discovery Center can be a way to honor someone and their contributions as well! It is a great way to celebrate those we love for what they bring to our lives and this world!

Other gatherings may be held to honor a Rite of Passage, such as beginning Menses, “Maiden Celebration” or completing Menopause, “Crone (Crowning) Celebration”. In many cultures, these events in a woman’s life are honored and acknowledged. In these women’s circles, participants who have already passed through this particular Rite of Passage use objects in the sandtray collection to share their experience, wisdom, and wishes. The person entering this Rite of Passage can choose objects to share their experience of this event. And if there are participants who have not experienced this Rite of Passage, they too can choose objects related to their experience of this event and share their “gifts.” This is a wonderful bringing together of Women’s Wisdom and a real honor to witness.

A photo of the created sandtray is given to each member of the gathering to commemorate the event. Sacred Women’s Circles are as old as time and some may feel, needed more than ever! These Private Gatherings are a beautiful way to slow down the hectic pace of life and honor life’s many sacred events.
